Go get 'em, tiger.

Oct 22, 2020

I had lunch with my friend Lindsay last week.  She's amazing.  She recently lost over 30 pounds, made a HUGE career shift, & now she's coaching people on eating well, losing weight & living a healthier lifestyle.

We discussed how SO many facets of our lives could improve if we allowed them to through coaching.

Through high school we had specific teachers for each subject & specific coaches for each sport...Not just ONE coach to cover all sports...We had a separate coach for each one

Then we graduated & headed into the world with basically a, "Congratulations on adulthood!  Go get 'em, tiger!  Good luck figuring out what you want to be now that you’re grown up!”

And for some reason we think we're "supposed" to figure it all out on our own.

Huh?

What kind of high-school basketball team doesn't have a coach?  Certainly not a particularly successful one.

Any coach-less football teams?

Certainly our families provide the guidance they can to get us out on our own if we're lucky...likely with the intent of raising us to be relatively self-reliant adults.  But self-reliant to the point we have it ALL figured out?

No one has it ALL figured out...But we’re all scurrying around feeling like we should.

That’s messed up.  Don’t you think?

I spent years feeling like most people had it figured out, & I had missed a post or tweet...some message from a form of social media I had not yet tackled...

The message that gave me the secret to working fewer hours, being more mentally present with my family...

The one that noted my purpose & how to stop feeling like I was running through each day with a rocket on my ass.

Turns out such a message was never sent, but I did finally recognize the benefits of coaching.

And although I don't have all my ummm...stuff...ALL together, it’s much more together than it used to be.

The rocket’s on my ass far less, & I’m no longer grinding through the week, looking forward to the weekend...yet partially dreading it given weekends were my “catch up” time.

So I encourage you to consider an area of your life where coaching could potentially help you...

Unless YOU’RE the one who sent the message & DOES have it all figured out, then I just want you to let me know about that...Seriously.
