Sweating Empanadas...Five Steps Forward & Two Back

Do you ever feel like life should be linear? Like if you put in the effort, things should just move forward? Steadily?

Yeah, me too.

And yet...It never does.

Five steps forward…two steps back.

Three steps forward…one step back.

And sometimes, you take one step forward and face-plant.

We just got back from vacation, where my diet consisted mainly of empanadas, croissants, churros served with a giant cup of chocolate sauce, and an occasional sangria. 🥐🍷 

So returning to my workout class felt like a full-body betrayal. I didn’t realize sweating empanadas was possible, but it is.

Life isn’t meant to be linear, and making progress of any kind isn't about perfection.

It’s about showing up, even when you feel like you’re back at square one.

The steps back happen whether you plan for them or not. But eventually, all those steps (even the backward ones) get you somewhere worth going.
